Quadruped Robot Companies
6 companies in the ZeroGantry manufacturer directory.
Quadruped robots — robot dogs — walk on four legs, which lets them climb stairs, cross gravel and step over obstacles that stop wheeled robots. Their main commercial job is industrial inspection: walking routes through refineries, substations, mines and plants while carrying thermal cameras, gas sensors and acoustic imagers.
Boston Dynamics' Spot and ANYbotics' ANYmal (built for explosive atmospheres) lead in industrial inspection. Unitree and DEEP Robotics have pushed prices down sharply for research, education and consumer use, and Ghost Robotics focuses on defense and security. Sony's aibo sits at the consumer-companion end.
Profiles below list each maker's quadruped platforms and link to our robot reference specs and comparisons where we have them.
